If three dinosaurs roar when you open your door, what do you say?

“Boo!” of course! In this charmingly spooky story by Susan Hood, little trick-or-treaters learn just what to say in every Halloween situation. From rattling bones to ghostly footsteps, Susan captures all the best scares of the season—and teaches just the right way to dispel fears in favor of fun. Jed Henry’s lustrous watercolors add the perfect crisp chill to this fall-weather story.

For if a skeleton groans as she rattles her bones, what do you say?

Susan Hood is a scaredy-cat. Things that go bump in the night really get under her skin. When she noticed her three-year-old neighbor felt the same way, she decided to write JUST SAY BOO to arm the littlest trick-or-treaters with just the right incantation to scare of the rattling bones and ghostly groans of the season.

Susan has written more than 200 children’s books, including SPIKE, THE MIXED-UP MONSTER, illustrated by Melissa Sweet and ADA’S VIOLIN: The Story of the Recycled Orchestra of Paraguay, illustrated by Sally Wern Comport.  Next up? Coming this November is THE FIX-IT MAN, illustrated by Arree Chung—all about a small inventor/engineer with a knack for problem-solving and Rube Goldberg contraptions.
